Biography

Alissa Davies is an intuitive, process-oriented painter who creates abstract acrylic and mixed media paintings. She is known for her colorful, emotion-filled work that is playful and interesting, as well as deep-felt and honest. First and foremost, Davies art-making is a non-verbal expression of her internal landscape and her paintings go through many layers and iterations before composition, color relationships and movement considerations come into play to finish a piece. Her work has been collected across North America and she has been featured in group and solo shows in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, New York City, and soon to be, Maine, her beloved home state. Davies lives and works in Boulder, CO and finds inspiration from the natural world and from watching her two young children make art.
